Machine Type: Wet Glue labeler Labeling Applications:Wet Glue orientation applications on cans, bottles, and other round container products Container Types: Wet GlueA Wet glue labeling machine, also known as a wet glue labeler or wet glue labeling system, is a type of machine used in the packaging industry to apply labels to containers using wet adhesive, also known as glue or paste. Unlike self-adhesive labels that have an adhesive backing, wet glue labels require the application of a liquid adhesive during the labeling process.
The process of labeling with a wet glue labeling machine typically involves the following steps:
1. Container Placement: The containers, such as bottles, jars, or cans, are loaded onto the machine’s conveyor system or a feeding mechanism, which positions them in the correct orientation for labeling.
2. Label Roll: The machine uses a roll of pre-cut or continuous wet glue labels that are fed into the labeling head. These labels are typically made of paper or film material.
3. Glue Application: The labeling machine applies a thin layer of liquid adhesive (glue) onto the labels as they pass through the labeling head. The glue is usually applied using brushes, rollers, or pads.
4. Label Application: As the containers move along the conveyor, the wet glue labels are applied to their surfaces. The labeling head uses a mechanism such as a tamp pad, suction pad, or rotary wheel to transfer the labels onto the containers. The adhesive on the labels adheres to the containers’ surfaces.
5. Label Pressing and Drying: After the labels are applied, a pressing mechanism may be used to ensure proper adhesion and to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles. Some machines also incorporate drying systems, such as hot air or infrared lamps, to accelerate the drying process of the adhesive.
6. Container Discharge: Once the labels are applied and dried, the labeled containers are discharged from the machine, ready for further processing, packaging, or distribution.
Wet glue labeling machines are commonly used in industries such as beverages (e.g., beer, wine, and spirits), cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and household products. They provide reliable and durable labeling solutions, especially for containers that may be exposed to moisture or other challenging environments. Wet glue labels offer excellent adhesion and can be easily removed for recycling or reusing the containers.
